Blind Love
Mixed media (acrylics, clay, and dried flowers) – Symbolic figurative work
This artwork reflects my thoughts about love, memory, and the fragility of life. When I created it, I wanted to show how human connection can bring light even in moments of darkness. The couple’s hands are intertwined with a red string, from which a soft light emerges — symbolizing fate and connection. From that light, flowers bloom, representing the beauty that can grow from love.
On the girl’s side, her heart is exposed and sculpted with clay, then glazed to create a lifelike texture. She is blinded by a bundle of dried flowers, showing how love can be both tender and blinding. The heart represents raw emotion — the pain and beauty that come with loving deeply.
To balance life and decay, I used real flowers, preserved with hairspray to harden and dry them, alongside acrylic paints for the figures. By blending painting and sculpture, I wanted the work to feel alive and textured — because painting alone could not express everything I felt. Blind Love communicates that relationships, though fragile, give us light, warmth, and meaning in life.
